Wherein a surgeon tells some stories, shares some thoughts, and occasionally shoots off his mouth. Like a surgeon.

Nice
I suppose there's no point in mentioning it, since you're already reading this and therefore don't need enticements. Nevertheless, there's a nice little blurb about this here blog at OneBlogADay. And pay no attention to the picture. Not having one of myself, I gave them one of my elderly and slovenly great-grandfather.

my favorite blog by a long shot
Hi Dr Schwab - I've been MIA for awhile, blog lurking here and there while I procrastinated in doing taxes. Now I want to catch up on some reading so, I just copied your last 4 posts to read somewhere a little more comfortably.
Just left you a comment on one blogaday. Let me correct you - handsome! :)
Nice try on passing off your picture as your grandfather, Dr. Schwab!
From The Enormous Clinic (TEC)
Hi Doctor ... the other day you received a call from one of my workmates concerning support for a political action committee. She gave me the link, and by golly, I like this blog a lot. Really good stuff, I'm a fan!
Another well deserved pat on the back!
Idea for future post: patients who push your buttons (if you have anything like that). For me it is patients who already know what kind of surgery they want when they come in (other than tubal ligation). They basically ask me to do a technical task, no clinical acumen desired. And sort of related, patients who have consulted another doctor and want me to implement that doctor's plan.
r/ob: good ideas. I'll think on 'em.
ghosty: thanks. your friend talked me out of fifty bucks!
anonymous: like I don't know who you are. Keep reading, when you're not typing.
seaspray: reading blogs is more important than paying taxes.
bongi: same to you!
Hi It's Elizabeth spoke ith you the other day! Love Your Blog! Wanted to Say Hi and Thanks
Congratulations on the well-deserved honor.
Hey, you're famous. I'm danged impressed. You deserve it. I bragged on you over at the blogaday site, too. Yeah. Sure. I'm a brown-noser.
Best blog I've ever read.
And what a HANDSOME grandfather you have! I'll bet he's smart and is nice to animals, too.
It's too damn bad your great-great grandfather is too old to go dancing. He's a handsome fella.
A color picture of your great-grandpa, eh? Who are you trying to fool? :) Nice interview. Congrats!
